teamwork scores goals

The ball starts in the middle, is well defended, and is sent outside. The passer moves forward and the space where he had been is open. The wing brings the ball in and shoots basically a free kick.

Defender on the outside should not have allowed him to come inside. Hey, dude, that is where the goal is. Still, it looks like the defender had a tough decision because he was not willing to put a closer mark on the wing with the ball so the defender must have learned to be cautious from earlier in the same game. However, in this kind of shadow marking, the idea is to protect the middle and push the man outside.

The passer moving forward allowed this goal to happen by creating an open space for the wing with the ball to occupy and score from.
